The Royal Institute for Sports Training Moulay Rachid in Salé hosted, on Saturday 27 December 2025, the Ordinary and Electoral General Assembly of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Savate and Related Disciplines. This key institutional meeting focused on reviewing the outcomes of three consecutive sporting seasons (2022–2023, 2023–2024 and 2024–2025) while setting the leadership framework for the federation’s next strategic phase.
The assembly was attended by presidents and representatives of all legally affiliated regional associations, alongside officials from the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports and the Moroccan National Olympic Committee. The strong institutional presence underscored the federation’s commitment to regulatory compliance, transparency and good governance.
Assessing achievements amid structural challenges
The proceedings were chaired by the acting president of the federation, Mr. Abdelilah Bouzidi Idrissi, who highlighted the progress achieved by Moroccan kickboxing and muay thai at African, Arab and international levels. He emphasized, however, that sustaining this momentum requires intensified collective efforts, in line with the Royal Guidelines articulated during the National Sports Conference in Skhirat.

The moral and financial reports covering the three seasons were presented and discussed, offering a comprehensive overview of competitions organized, technical training programs implemented and the main challenges encountered. Issues related to structural consolidation, governance efficiency and sustainable development were openly addressed. The unanimous approval of these reports reflects broad confidence in the work accomplished, while acknowledging the scale of the reforms still required.
A carefully managed leadership transition
On the electoral front, Mr. Khalid Kandili was elected as the new president of the federation, in a climate of broad consensus. His election signals a carefully managed transition, balancing institutional continuity with the need to modernize administrative and technical management practices in a rapidly evolving global combat sports landscape.
Mr. Idriss Hilali, Honorary President of the Federation and newly appointed Director General, stressed the importance of collective alignment behind the federation’s future project. He called for full support of the new leadership to enable a shift from day-to-day management toward long-term strategic planning focused on training, professionalization and human capital development.
Institutional recognition and a message of continuity
The General Assembly concluded with symbolic moments of recognition, including a tribute to Mr. Abdelilah Bouzidi Idrissi for his dedication during his interim mandate. In turn, he honored the presidents of regional leagues, members of the national technical commission and federation staff, reinforcing a culture of collective acknowledgment and shared responsibility.
The meeting ended with the reading of a message of loyalty and allegiance addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in an atmosphere reflecting unity within the sporting community and a shared determination to ensure the success of the upcoming phase, while strengthening Morocco’s representation in international combat sports arenas.
